The reason that this material is found under what would be
considered to be personal pages is that that a lot of what appears
here is pure speculation. I take no responsibility for what anyone
does with this information, these endless disclaimers seem to
be part of the lot of being a physician who sets up a public web
site. Internet medical information on medical matters is 99% garbage
(A. E vanVogt first made this statment in regard to SF, but then
he added, 99% of everything is garbage). On this web site, medical
information that is available is divided into 3 categories:
(a) Evidence based medical information which can safely be used
clinically.
(b) Speculative ideas on medicine that should only be used for
treatment of medical conditions at the patients own risk
(c) Wild speculation which is presented more for the interesting
thought spaces that were traversed rather than any clinical utility.
There is very little internet information that I would classify as category (a). On this site you will find such information clearly marked, and right now NO online information here fits this category. Most of the stuff available here is of category (b). although I expect that category (c) material will eventually also be placed here. What I will do is indicate what category I consider the medical information to fit in. Further discussion on this particular classification scheme is given here.
The following medica research and speculative areas are currently
available for your perusal. There are presented in no particular
order:
Dynamic diseases
The illusion of reality
Fingertapping work
24 hour heartrate monitoring
Werther effect
